Production Rates!


There are three major additions to the latest build:

  • Production rates for symbols are now calculated. The table on the right of the game window shows the number of symbols produced per second.
  • Producers have a maximum capacity for storage. When they receive a symbol they will store it but if they're full they will check their store and drop the symbol that they have the most of. And they will also deduct that symbol from the rate total. It is possible to get a negative production rate if you producers are destroying more of a symbol than they are creating.

  • Producers can now "overheat". Every time they produce a symbol it causes some heat to be generated. When they have too much they will stop producing until they cool down enough to restart.

A couple of lesser changes and details:

  • You can now shift + mouse wheel to zoom in and out.
  • Producers with multiple output connections can now send symbols down them in parallel.
  • Getting links connected so the symbols flow backwards from input to output should now be impossible.

Future goals:

  • Selection of multiple producers and links so the can be dragged together
  • Copy and paste of multiple producers and links
  • Producer status sub-window showing store, heat, capacity and maybe production rate.
